Forest in the Sahara? Sustainable urban developments?? amazing....

MASDAR = Source

Abu Dhabi.

Check this out as my last post for today: this is absolutely shocking!
this settlement will be home for 100,000 people: homes, offices, research institues.
It aims to be carbon neutral and recycle all its own waste;

And an even bigger project:

SAHARA FOREST PROJECT

AIR TREE - Eco-Boulevard - Vallecas/Madrid

Eco-Boulevard - A group of sustainable public spaces built on a 500x50 mtr road aimed at being socially sustainable.

The tree of air:

It consumes only what it can produce through photovoltaic solar energy systems.

This project demonstrates how temporary structures can bridge the gap between the built environment and its community; providing greater awareness to sustainable issues.
